Stunning beaches, rugged coastline, a land steeped in history, a pace of life often forgotten
Its hard to explain just how stunning Cornwall is. You have to experience it for yourself. But here's a short video from the Cornish Tourist Board that will give you a small flavour of just how stunning the Cornwall coastline is.
Cornwall is your calm in the storm of your everyday life
Connect to nature, re-discover yourself and your family, walk, eat, discover, relax.....
These are just a few photos I've taken from around the Cornwall coast over the past few years. We're constantly discovering something new, or a location we know, after a storm, or a different time of day or year. The Cornish coastline is constantly changing, yet is is also comfortingly unchanged.
Cornwall has so many breathtaking beaches that its impossible to pick your favourite and even in August its easy to find one that's peaceful and uncrowded. One of the best (Hayle Towans), is just over a mile from our Cottages, so you don't have to go far to find white gold sands banked by majestic sand dunes and azure blue sea.
But its not just about the beaches. Cornwall is steeped in history and myth. You can wander around the old ruined mines and try to imagine it in days gone by. Spend a day at St Michaels Mount and see if you can find the giants heart, visit Tintagel castle, the home of King Arthur, or discover one of the many locations used in the filming of the latest Poldark series.
Then what about the food? Cornwall is a foodie paradise. The Cornish are passionate about keeping things local. We have many specialist artisans from Baker Toms bakery, to Polgoon Vineyard, not to mention a huge choice of outstanding Cornish Ice-cream, Pasty producers and quirky cafes, serving cream teas the Cornish way (Jam first!!).
I can't mention Cornish food without mentioning the fish. Go to Newlyn for fish straight off the boats. I also particularly love the little shop just off the sea front in Penzance that sells the fish they caught that morning and when they're sold out they close the shop. I won't buy my Mackerel anywhere else.
